By CAR

Travel from Athens to Nafplio via Olympia Odos/A8/E94 (includes toll)

Nafplio is a great destination for a day trip from Athens by car. It is about 140 km from the capital and the journey takes about 2 hours in normal traffic.

Start: Athens

Start your journey from Omonia Square, the heart of Athens, heading towards Athens Avenue and National Road 8 towards Olympia Road (A8/E94) to Mandra. Alternatively, you can also take the Attiki Odos in the direction of Elefsina.

Head towards Olympia Odos

After about 30 minutes’ drive, you will find yourself on Olympia Odos (A8/E94), one of the most modern and safest motorways in Greece. 8 km after the Isthmus of Corinth, stay left at the fork to continue on the Corinth-Tripoli motorway (A7/E65), follow the signs for Tripoli/Kalamata.

Towards Nemea and Nafplio

After the toll “Spathovouni” about 8 km, you will take the exit towards Arch. Nemea/Nafplion/Mykines.

From Nemea to Nafplio

After the exit, your route will lead you to the old National Road Corinth-Argos and then to the Provincial Road Nafplio-Corinth (follow the signs for Mycenae/Nafplion).

Arrival in Nafplio

At Tiryns, turn left onto the Argos-Nafplion Provincial Road, which will take you to your final destination.

As you approach Nafplio, the historic city will greet you with its beautiful neoclassical buildings, narrow streets and abundant natural beauty. Nafplio, with its rich history and unique architectural layouts, is an ideal destination for lovers of history, culture and natural beauty.

From Nafplio you can travel by bus to Drepano, Tolo, Asini, Lefkakia, Aria, Karathon, Mycenae, Epidaurus (Theatre), Ancient Epidaurus etc.
