Support Centers for the Disabled People of Argolida Prefecture

The support centre is an open unit of social care, addressing all people who have disability problems and it is manned with personnel, specialized in such conditions.

The aim of the SUPPORT CENTRE is:

  • The accurate diagnosis and evaluation of the physical, mental, psychological and social state of those with disability problems, regardless of age, with the aim to recording and tracking the personal needs and potentials of every one and the preplanning of a program which will cover their bio-psychosocial needs and ultimately achieve their overall social care.

  • The awareness and briefing of the disabled people and their families over general issues that regard disability or policies that are planned and are achieved through it as well as the consultancy needed to help fulfill their personal needs via the adequate offices, services and programs relating to disabled people.

  • The provision of services and programs in order to secure a decent level of life for them and their families as well as their equal participation and integration into society, into the financial and social sections of life.

  • The development of activities and gradual elimination of prejudice regarding their nature alongside the endeavor to thwart their social and financial abandonment.

  • The networking, cooperation and synchronization with regional services as well as representative groups of the disabled people and/or their families with the upper purpose to fully access any goods and services for them or their families as well as the concentration and editing of all data related to them and the redefinition of the disabled people state in a collaborative and completed manner, through the Support Centers, meant for those people.

  • The prevention of disabilities in all areas of development or evolution (kinetic, cognitive, mental, social and psychological) through interventional programming.

  • The development of pre-orientational and occupational programs for the disabled as well as activities and programs for the semi-autonomous or entirely autonomous living standards that they can enjoy.

NOTE: Integration to the Support Centre's programs can be made after an appointment.

Activities:

1) In alliance with the athletic centers of Nafplio, there are special sport programs. Please declare participation in our Support Centre: ( Tel. No:2752361023, 2752361000, every day from 09.00 to 13.00)

2) Special activities organized, such as:

a) Painting courses
b) Dance Courses
c) Literature, tale narration
d) Entertainment Society
e) Chess
f) Cooking Courses
And many more activities, fitting the needs of the disabled people.
